U.S. data-center capacity may nearly double by 2028
Bloom Energy put load capacity at about 80 GW in 2025 and 150 GW in 2028. That is 70 extra gigawatts in three years — more than Spain uses on an average day.

Capacity ≠ demand ≠ announced. Goldman’s U.S. demand series is 31 / 41 / 66 GW (2025–27, May 2026 print). GS expects only 50–60% of the next 1–2 years’ scheduled capacity on time. Sightline: 190 GW announced; only ~5 GW of the 2026 vintage is under construction. Bloom’s June mid-year did not revise 80→150.
