900 million people use ChatGPT every week

OpenAI’s official weekly-active series runs from 100 million at DevDay 2023 to 900 million-plus in February 2026. It has not published a 1 billion WAU figure.

Gemini became Google’s fastest product to a billion

The dedicated Gemini app crossed 1 billion monthly users on 11 August — the 14th Google product in that club, and the fastest.

Both hit a billion. They are not counting the same thing.

ChatGPT’s 1 billion is Sensor Tower monthly app users. Gemini’s 1 billion is Google’s own app MAU. OpenAI’s last official weekly figure is still 900 million.

Unitree, the Chinese humanoid-robot maker, priced a Shanghai STAR IPO at about $9 billion on 6 August. The retail book was oversubscribed more than 8,000 times.
